In May Ellie's headstone was installed. For Memorial Day we met my family down there and got to see it for the first time. I took a lot of pictures. The headstone turned out perfect. I hate having it but I love the way it turned out. Some flowers were brought by us, my parents, my grandma, and my aunt and uncle. I think it was my mom who brought the little elephant. I am hoping that will stay there even after they've cleaned off the flowers. I love the location that she is at. Cokeville, Wy has very special memories for me. I also love that she is next to my grandpa who I was very close to. I like to think of him watching over her. I just wish it was closer. It's only 3 hours away but that's a 6 hour round trip. We just don't make it up there all that often. We thought of going there on the way to my parent's house next week when we go up for Thanksgiving but there is probably too much snow. Wyoming gets a ton of snow and the cemetery is up this hill. I don't think our car could even make it up there if there is a lot of snow. Oh well, I guess it will have to wait until the spring.
We decided recently that we aren't adventurous enough. So, this is us documenting our new adventures.

ipad pics
Okay, so i'm at work today and i'm kind of bored. I'm off track but i'm just subbing to get some extra Christmas money. I don't have access to all of my pictures but I do have some pics on my ipad I can share. I don't usually take pics with my ipad, I think it's kind of silly to hold up a huge ipad to take pictures with, but it's nice to have if I don't have my camera around. I don't have a fancy phone so if I didn't happen to bring my camera then I can usually count on having my ipad. This thing pretty much goes with me everywhere I go. So, anyway I know the picture quality is not great, and I refuse to get into picture editing on my ipad, but this will give you a brief overview of some stuff that has been going on this year. I will add more pictures when I am at home with my desktop computer.
This was a failed attempt at making gold tie dyed tube socks for girl's camp. They looked so funny they ended up being ajoke. We told the girls it didn't matter what you looked like on the outside aslong as you were beautiful on the inside:)
Bobby has been working on some music and on some picture editing. This is a picture he took that he has been working with.
This was really my first try at making cupcakes. We took these to the nurses at the hospital for Ellie's birthday.
Thisi s a silly picture of Thomas. We were playing a really silly game over the Fourth of July break.
My grandpa passed away earlier this year. He was a veteran so he got a really great send-off. I am really glad that my mom had the opportunity to go and be with her family at this time. It was the first time in a long time that all 8 siblings were together.
This is a picture of my grandma receiving the flag at his ceremony.
It was not very user friendly to post from my ipad so i'm probably not going to do that very much. This should give you a brief overview of our year. More to come!
This is just a new hat we bought for Bobby the other day. It is cold now and he has a hard time keeping his head and ears warm. I just thought he looked cute in it. He was a little bashful but I thought the picture turned out cute.
Tiger Lilly loves to cuddle with Bobby.
She cuddles with me occasionally but usually only when I am using a comfy blanket that she can sit on.
This is an odd picture of Maggie. I'm not sure what the story is behind it:)
In August my sister-in-law and the the twins moved up to Rexburg. We got to spend some time with them them at my aunt's house.

Another picture of the beautiful Maggie.
I've been having fun making cupcakes. These are some cupcakes I made when we were at my parent's house for the Fourth of July.

A good friend of mine sent me this beautiful Elephant stuffed animal that she made. It has become a really good friend:)

coming back
Okay, I know it's been a while since we've posted but, wow! I had no idea it'd been since January. Okay, I need to be better. I hate posting sometimes because I feel like my life is boring and I just wish I had kids to talk about. Posting about my cat would just be lame, right?
We do interesting things, just not every week. So I won't bore you with daily postings or even weekly postings. I will try to update at least once a month to talk about what we did that month. I may post more but I will be sure to do at least once a month. I have some pictures from this year to share.
Okay, so this post turned out to be pretty lame. I keep trying to think of something more to say, but that's really it. I guess I can tell you what's going on in our lives right now.
Bobby keeps really busy with his duties from church. He is still looking for a job. We would love for him to go back to school to study Chemical Engineering but we are trying to figure out how to afford that with him out of work. He spends his free time right now writing electronic music.
I am in my 5th year of teaching. I am still teaching 6th grade. I teach at a year round school and am just beginning a 3 week break. I spend too much time playing games on my iPad and watching Netflix.
We are really excited to go and visit my family next week for Thanksgiving. Don't worry, I won't post the details of our travel plans so a crazy person can't come rob us.
That's about it for now. More exciting adventures to come. I'm sure:)

Birthday phase 2
Guadalahonky's was phase 2 of his birthday. I forgot my camera so this isn't an actual picture of what we ate but the food was great. He loved it. He said it felt like he was back in New Mexico. We had soooo much food. We ended up taking home more than we actually ate there.
Bobby's Birthday 2012 phase 1
We decided that we need to party this year. We have already decided ahead of time that 2012 is going to be a great year and we are going to celebrate all year.
We started celebrating a day early because Bobby is off of work today. I started with his first present. I left it on the bed so he would see it when he got out of the shower.
Tiger Lilly helped me wrap the present.
He has no idea what it is. He thought I got him a book on CD.
Yay, he's happy. I'm always worried when I buy him a present. I know I buy him things he'll like but I always second guess myself and worry he won't like it.
It's the Smith's complete collection. This will keep him busy for a while.
Christmas 2011
We didn't take many pictures this Christmas. I really wish I had at least taken a good picture of the tree. We did the peppermint theme, everything was white and red. We had a pretty emotional time this Christmas so we didn't really take that many pictures. The only pictures we have are to the cat. She was obsessed with staring into the tree.
Halloween 2011
This is the whole group set up in their garage. He had a lot of fun acting out the part that night.

Attention all photographers!
This is a link to a post that my good friend Heidi Vawdrey made.
http://angelmamas.blogspot.com/2011/12/recruitment-effort.html
She is the amazing woman who photographed Ellie and us in the hospital. Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep (NILMDTS) is in desperate need of photographers. This is the most amazing service you could possibly give to another human being. If you are interested please contact me or NILMDTS http://www.nowilaymedowntosleep.org/.
THANKS!

Our cornmazing adventure
I know. Way original. What can I say? I am just so punny. Okay this is getting bad. Moving on.
We tried to have as much fun as possible while mom was staying with us. She decided to take us out to dinner, a movie, and the corn maze to celebrate Bobby's new job.
We saw The Three Musketeers and loved it. None of us had ever gone to a corn maze before and nobody else in our family really wanted to so it was the perfect time for the three of us to go.

I think I remember Bobby doing something silly and mom giving him a dirty look when I took this picture.
The sun was right in my eyes or I would have given a better bride of Frankenstein face.
What do you know? Corn in a corn maze. Strange.
lost mitten
They had afun game you could play. They had 10 trivia qyestions that coordinated with 10 posts throughout the maze. The game helped you navigate. If you answered true you turned left and if you answered false you turned right. All the questions were corn related. We got them all right and won a prize at the end.
They also gave us a map so I could use the map to navigate. If we didn't know the answer to one of the questions I just figrued out whether we needed to turn left or right than chose the appropriate answer.
I thougth this picture with all the kernels was really pretty.
The maze made a picture of a witch and a pirate. Bobby is standing in the pirate's armpit right now.
Bobby also video documented our adventure.
Our completed trivia card.
Bobby was convinced that the maze was haunted so this werewolf hair was evidence of strange things going on at the maze.
I really took on the role as navigaor. I used the map to get us to all 10 posts and answer all of the quesitons.Frankenstein and his bride.
Work Halloween Party
I am actually off-track for Halloween (woo hoo) so we had our class Halloween party on October 19th. I can't post pictures of students but I have a couple good pictures from that day I can share.
Bobby came to help out and document the day and aparantly be silly. Thanks for taking pictures babe.
Mom came to stay with us for a few days. She came to help out all day with the party. Bless her. I had to keep telling her that usually things aren't this crazy. I usually have much better control and order in my classroom. We were melting caramel to make caramel apples with our first grade reading buddies. These are the after shots of my crockpot. We also made what I called modern art with a bunch of bowls and spoons that got stuck together. Yeah this was fun to clean.
