We decided recently that we aren't adventurous enough. So, this is us documenting our new adventures.

Attention all photographers!

This is a link to a post that my good friend Heidi Vawdrey made.
http://angelmamas.blogspot.com/2011/12/recruitment-effort.html
She is the amazing woman who photographed Ellie and us in the hospital. Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep (NILMDTS) is in desperate need of photographers. This is the most amazing service you could possibly give to another human being. If you are interested please contact me or NILMDTS http://www.nowilaymedowntosleep.org/.
THANKS!

Our cornmazing adventure

I know. Way original. What can I say? I am just so punny. Okay this is getting bad. Moving on.
We tried to have as much fun as possible while mom was staying with us. She decided to take us out to dinner, a movie, and the corn maze to celebrate Bobby's new job.
We saw The Three Musketeers and loved it. None of us had ever gone to a corn maze before and nobody else in our family really wanted to so it was the perfect time for the three of us to go.
I think I remember Bobby doing something silly and mom giving him a dirty look when I took this picture.
The sun was right in my eyes or I would have given a better bride of Frankenstein face.
What do you know? Corn in a corn maze. Strange.

 lost mitten
They had afun game you could play. They had 10 trivia qyestions that coordinated with 10 posts throughout the maze. The game helped you navigate. If you answered true you turned left and if you answered false you turned right. All the questions were corn related. We got them all right and won a prize at the end.
They also gave us a map so I could use the map to navigate. If we didn't know the answer to one of the questions I just figrued out whether we needed to turn left or right than chose the appropriate answer.
I thougth this picture with all the kernels was really pretty.
The maze made a picture of a witch and a pirate. Bobby is standing in the pirate's armpit right now.
Bobby also video documented our adventure.
Our completed trivia card.
Bobby was convinced that the maze was haunted so this werewolf hair was evidence of strange things going on at the maze.
I really took on the role as navigaor. I used the map to get us to all 10 posts and answer all of the quesitons.

Work Halloween Party

I am actually off-track for Halloween (woo hoo) so we had our class Halloween party on October 19th. I can't post pictures of students but I have a couple good pictures from that day I can share.
Bobby came to help out and document the day and aparantly be silly. Thanks for taking pictures babe.

Mom came to stay with us for a few days. She came to help out all day with the party. Bless her. I had to keep telling her that usually things aren't this crazy. I usually have much better control and order in my classroom. We were melting caramel to make caramel apples with our first grade reading buddies. These are the after shots of my crockpot. We also made what I called modern art with a bunch of bowls and spoons that got stuck together. Yeah this was fun to clean.

Share walk for remembrance

October is pregnancy and infant loss awareness month. October 15th was the Share Walk for Remembrance.

We all went on a walk around the park. There was a beautiful fountain that Sharon wanted to take a picture in front of. Bobby doesn't look to happy about it though.
This is the wonderful family that came to share this day with us. Mom, Aunt Melissa, Cousin JC, Grandma. Thanks for coming guys. It meant a lot to us to have you there. I know Dad would have come too if he hadn't been sick.
We all got balloons to release for our babies. It was a very emotional day for both of us.
Sharon's balloon got stuck in the tree. It's the one on the left in the middle.
We were wary about releasing balloons. We know it's not great for the environment and we didn't really see what the point was. But, it was more amazing than we could have imagined watching those balloons soar through the sky. It turned our head heavenward and we imagined Ellie up there with all the other angel babies represented by the many balloons released that day.

Game Night

Our friends the Welch's invited us over for a game night. We had a baked potato bar and played a game called Quelf. The game was really fun. You had to do wacky things. It was kind of a cross between Curses and Cranium.
This is Bobby rocking out to air guitar.
I think Boby is being a DJ in this shot. That is Justin Welch in the background holding their baby girl Annica. (I hope I spelled that right. Sorry if I didn't.)
Kate Welch is getting pretty. Notice the napkin necklace and the hooker lipstick.
 Sharon holding Annica.
She sure loves to suck on those finger. Annica, not Sharon. That would be weird if Sharon liked to suck on her fingers. Although Annica also enjoyed sucking on Sharon's fingers. Sharon didn't try sucking on Annica's fingers.

September Adventures

Okay, so it turns out we aren't as adventurous as we would like. Being adventurous isn't something that comes easy for us. We are definitely home bodies. We find something we like and we stick to it. Why try something new.
Bobby has found that he really likes cooking. He researches recipes online and mixes and matches. He makes notes on the recipe as he goes and perfects it.
So, here is Bobby cooking the hamburger and onions. He is wearing the long sleeves because I am always hot and he is always cold. Our compromise is that I crank up the AC and he wears long sleeves.
Here are some more of his ingredients. I wanted to take a picture of the recipe but he said it was a secret. I hope this picture doesn't give too much away.
This is what his Chili looked like in the crock pot. Mmm Mmm good.
He also found this awesome recipe for biscuits like the ones at Red Lobster. They are amazing!
Very early on in the process he sliced his finger open cutting the onions. There was actually quite a bit of blood. I saw it and knew he needed stitches. He put it under water in the faucet. I knew we needed to stop the bleeding so I grabbed a dish towel and started applying pressure. I had him hold it while I grabbed the first aid kit out of the cupboard and tore through it looking for the needed supplies.
This is just part of the mess I made looking for the supplies I wanted. My first priority was to stop the bleeding. I found the gauze pretty quickly but then I couldn't find the medical tape. So, my first attempt at bandaging him included duct tape (see above photo).
Very soon after I decided the bleeding had stopped enough for me to  re bandage it. I actually found these sticky sterile strips to close the wound. The man is really stubborn and refused to go and get stitches. He says we can't afford it (but I think he's scared). So, this a picture of my second, much better attempt, at bandaging up his finger. Later that night we decided it needed to be cleaned. Unfortunately when I pulled off the sticky steri strip it reopened the wound and much more bleeding commenced. I had the camera out to take a picture of the actual cut but decided my first priority should probably be to clean and recover the wound. So, I poured some peroxide on it and quickly bandaged it up again tight so it would stop the bleeding. We decided that since he wasn't bleeding through the gauze he should probably be okay. This morning I noticed his finger was turning purple at the tip so I loosened the gauze on it. I wasn't able to take the gauze off though because it is stuck to the wound. So, tonight I am going to try to wet a q-tip then wet the incision a bit to loosen the gauze. This time I am going to put some neosporen on it and re-gauze it. I suggested a band aid but he said he likes the gauze because it pads it and it's quite painful. Hopefully more pictures to come. I hope there isn't any more bleeding. Advice from any nurse friends would be great!

Not to be outdone by Bobby I tried to do a little baking. I love baking unfortunately i'm not very good as evidenced by the disgusting looking pie below. We were inspired recently by an episode of Psych in which they eat a cinnamon pie. Taking a note out of Bobby's book I did a little research online and found a recipe. It looked pretty simple. I am not the pie crust queen like my mom so I had Bobby buy me a pie crust. Good thing it came with two crusts because that means I can try to redeem myself with a second attempt. The recipe was simple but it came out weird. It's like the top layer is good but the bottom layer is all water. It tastes pretty darn good and i'm sure we will still eat it but I would never serve it to anyone else. I guess it's time to try another recipe. Any suggestions from anybody who has a good cinnamon pie recipe would be greatly appreciated.

Mill Creek Canyon

We are trying to be more adventurous but we aren't doing very good. We don't usually leave the house unless someone invites us out to do something. Yesterday our friends from the ward called up and asked us to go up with them to Mill Creek canyon and have s'mores. We had never been there before and we were kind of bored with our long Sunday afternoon so we said we would go. We had a lot of fun. The canyon is a pretty popular day canyon with lots of picnic places and trails to hike along. It was pretty packed but we eventually found a spot and started the fire. It was fun watching their boys play. We had a great time just sitting around and talking with the good company. I'm really glad we went. I for see many more excursions up Mill Creek canyon for us. Maybe even a good hike in the near future.

August fun

This week my family came down from Rexburg to party with us. Dad treated us to Monday at Lagoon, Tuesday at the zoo and swimming at Melissa's, and Wednesday at the Museum of Ancient Life at Thanksgiving Point.

Rattlesnake Rapids. We had so much fun on this one that we rode it 5 times.
We loved the bumper cars more times than I can count. We had so much fun. We have a lot of bruises but it was worth it.
The family on the train ride.
The brave ones on the rocket: me, mom, Melissa, and Thomas.
Mom and I on the train.
Bobby being attacked by a dinosaur at the zoo.
Baby Zuri will be 2 next week.
Sharon and an ancient Turtle.

The family exploring the exhibits.
Bobby under a really big dinosaur.

Root Beer

The cream soda ended up tasting like "butt-crack on a cracker" as my uncle warned us it would. So, today we are trying Root Beer. We don't know how it will turn out. It smells like root beer but it's not very dark.
I love the look on his face in the next two pictures. Always the Chemist.
